We are excited about our cattle and the improvements that are made each year. Of course, you are never satisfied and anxiously await the arrival of a new calf crop to see the results of last years sire selection and if you used the right bull on the right cows.  I think it was the South African, Jan Bonsma, that said " if you think you have the perfect cow - just measure one more trait".   We were fortunate to be able to purchase some quality females from Knoll Crest Farm many years back.  From this purchase, a purchase from Missouri and a few others, we identified several cow families that have excelled in our farm environment.  Through Embryo Transfer and Artificial Insemination we are expanding and improving these cow families.  Our herd bulls have improved to the point that we are not terribly upset when a cow does not take to the AI breeding and has to go in with the cleanup bull.
